Well, I'm back from Atlanta and sort of in one piece. I am unpacked, chilling at home, and kind of recovering.

I was going to write a decent con report, but after resizing pictures and what not. I'm really just too lazy to put one together so I'll do a few quickies of the weekend and get on with the pictures.

AWA pretty much sucked, there were no events that interested me, and the con goers were pretty much jailbait "goth" and cosplay girls who weren't getting enough attention in high school. Oh yeah, and there was a super long line for the Yaoi After Dark panel which is actually pretty scary, especially after seeing all the male con goers who are basically whipped by the ones mentioned before. Modern animu fans anger me for some reason, even though I look back and i'm pretty sure I acted the same way at cons when I was 14-16. But I really am tempted to go to Dragon*Con this year, if only for a day or so, just to see if that has gotten any better since I was 12 years old. The seemingly more mature crowd is kind of drawing me.

What fun I had this weekend pretty much had nothing to do with the convention. For example Friday afternoon I ended up eating dinner with my buddy DJ Enigma and his coworker, heading to his buddies place and spinning Drum N Bass/Breaks til about 1:00 in the morning. I also got a copy of the Pendulum CD which I have been listening to non stop and am pretty much a DnB fan now. =D

Saturday was saved by the meeting with Tirki, Charles, and Ichi. We pretty much didn't do anything but socialize with each other and pretty much catch up on everything with everybody. It was a pretty good moment and I managed to enjoy myself and it was great seeing all the guys again. I'm also apparently the only one who watched Air Gear. In between that I got to harass Rachel who I met at Acen with dirty text messages. ;) Unfortunately there was no "rave" which is really disappointing as that seems to be the only event I really get into laterly at conventions. There WAS an AMV dance, but that's not really the same as having smoke, mirrors, and a DJ, but I'm probobly biased about that. Later that evening is pretty much a blur as I was hopped up on vodka/random mixes and everclear/gatorade. I must learn how to mix everclear and gatorade because that stuff is nectar of the gods if you ask me. Oh yeah, sometime during that afternoon I finally got to meet with DJ Cynispin who is a really great guy and had a fun time with. If your reading this I seriously hope we can get together and do some fun gigs or something man. :)

Sunday was typical get everything packed up and GTFO from the convention. Also for tradition I made the final Sunday dealer's room run and picked up some pretty good swag, which is saying something because I havn't bought anything from a dealer's room in about 3 years. The large Chun-Li door poster, a Chun-Li gem fighter key chain, and the Kotoko - Hane CD. I really wanted to grab one of the Initial D caps but they were sold out by Sunday(however the Naruto ones weren't, what does that tell you!? Bwahahah!), I may have to pick that up next go around if I see them again. Also on the CD front I was pretty disappointed, everyone just had the same J-pop/J-rock stuff and anime soundtracks from the Geneon catalog. I really like what Geneon is doing, but that seems to be all anyone carries anymore and not any Japanese imports. I was pretty much looking for stuff that J-rock house and such would carry, Japanese music (like the psytrance and hardcore collections) but not really anime OSTs. I also saw a few Amano artbooks that I kind of wanted, but they were $50 a pop and it was NOT worth that much to me to have them for that price. Ah well. Means more money in my pocket. After that we met up and headed to Steak and Shake where I had a delicious Halloween S'more milkshake. Then uh...we went home, I got on WoW and started my Quel'Serrar quest, couldn't sleep until about 3, and now here I am the next day.
